Repeat Prescriptions
IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR
PATIENTS
With effect from 2nd April 2006 the prescription telephone line
(01292) 265544 will be open:
Monday – Friday
9.00 am – 12 noon
We have extended the morning hours as this is the busiest time;
the line will not be open in the afternoon. In order to further
improve our service we now offer you more ways to order your
prescription.
Remember you do not need to phone the surgery to order your
repeat prescription.
Here are some of the other ways you might want to consider.

Via the
chemist:
Many chemists will order your repeat prescriptions for you
and will also collect your prescription from the surgery.
PLEASE ASK YOUR CHEMIST/PHARMACIST FOR MORE INFORMATION.

Ordering by
email:
THIS SERVICE IS CONFIDENTIAL AND SIMPLE YOU CAN ACCESS IT 24
HOURS A DAY.
Follow the instructions below to order your prescription by
email:
1. open up the search engine e.g. google, MSN outlook on
your personal computer.
2. type our website address in your search box:
www.ayrgp.com
3. From our opening page select “online prescriptions” from
the list on the left hand side of the screen.
4. Complete the details asked for on the form.
5. When you have finished Click on the box at the bottom on
the screen labelled “send form”.
More and more patients are now using this service and find
it simple and accessible – Give it a try!

At
reception:
Complete a prescription request slip and “post” your request
in the prescription box in the surgery.

By mail:
Post your request to the surgery. Please note you need to
enclose a stamped addressed envelope if you want us to send
your prescription to you, or to the chemist of your choice.
All prescriptions
will be kept at the reception desk for collection for a period
of one week, after which they may be destroyed. All repeat
prescription requests are carefully monitored and you will be
asked periodically to make an appointment for review of your
treatment. Computerised printing and recording of repeat
prescriptions is in place. Please do not ask for medication on
repeat that you have not
had before. |
